How to tilt my Bench Seat
On my 69 C10 Base Vynil Bench, does this seat tilt forward to get behind it at all? It is locked now and I cant find any levers or buttons. Slides for and aft but cant tilt the back forward that I can see.

There are two bolts that go through the metal brackets and into the part of the seat you sit on. I think the rear bolt can be removed to make the non-tilts tilt. The upholstery has to be modified to make this work. There is no usable space back there and with just a lap belt I would think it would be detrimental in an accident to have it tilt forward.... Just my 2¢ worth. LockDoc

Re: How to tilt my Bench Seat
67 and some 68 had the tilt back seat with a lever on the driver's side to release the seat back.

Re: How to tilt my Bench Seat
My seat is a 68. There is no lever to make it tilt forward. You simply grab the seatback and tilt it forward. It does take just a little bit of effort though. Sometimes I have to push it back and then tilt it forward.
I think LockDoc is correct though about removing some bolt to make em tilt forward. Good luck. |

Re: How to tilt my Bench Seat
My 67 has wing nuts that have to be removed to tilt the seat.
