Can someone post a pic of their clutch linkage with a v8. I converted a 6cyl to a 8 cyl and having trouble what to buy. I beleive I need the z bar for the 8cyl. If I could just see a pic of someones that would help a lot. Thanks Brian Wolf

HEY BRIAN, I USED TO HAVE 6CYL TOO. I NOW HAVE A V8 AND AM STILL USING THE 6CYL LINKAGE. THE MOTOR IS ALSO SITTING ON THE 6CYL HOLES. HAD TO BEND THE Z BAR OVER A BIT. THE ROD END WAS ADDED LATER BECAUSE THE LINKAGE WAS WEARING OUT... HERES A PIC

When I took off the the linkage the first time on the engine there was a funny looking bar with two bolt holes and it was like u shaped. That bar doesnt bolt to the v8. What do you have bolted to your engine holding the z bar. Thanks

There is a pivot ball that threads directly into the block.

I have learned that the bracket on the frame is diffrent from L6 to a V8. Then of course the bracket on the engine will be diffrent. I do belive that the Z-bar it self should be the same from 6 to8.

NOT SURE IF THE Z BARS ARE THE SAME BUT THE GUYS ARE RIGHT ABOUT THE PIVOT BALL. THERE SHOULD BE A THREADED HOLE ON THE SIDE OF THE BLOCK THAT THE PIVOT BALL SCREWS INTO.

Brian, Stop over sometime if you get a chance. I have the full stock clutch linkage set up and my sb is out so you can see what you need.

Look familiar??? If not, let me refresh your memory..... I bought a set of the below pictured hubcaps from you. They turned out to be the wrong ones. You told me you'd refund my money if I sent them back. I sent them back and I've never seen my money. Your dad even told me he'd send me the money.........still haven't seen it. Have you been able to save up $60 since then???? If so, I'll give you my address and you can drop a check in the mail.

the Z bars are different from 6 to 8, as are the rods, & frame bracket. The V8 sb in factory position , has a bracket with 2 holes that bolts to the block with the pivot ball welded on(2 wd). I have run the V8 linkage , with the sb in I 6 position, & used a screw in pivot ball in the foward hole in the block, redrilled the holes for the frame bracket to keep the Z bar perpendicular with the eng, & changed the lenght on the bottom rod. The top rod from the peddle arm to the Z bar on the 6 is straight.......the sb rod has a couple curves in it to set it away from the eng....crazyL
