1971 Blazer 4X4 New Arrival

Just picked up a 1971 Blazer 4X4. Get this, 250 Six, 3 on the tree,Spicer 20 TCase. It has ONE option, Guages. Thats it. Runs like a top, had to put a clutch in it. It was a 10 inch clutch, I changed the flywheel and installed an 11 inch clutch. Frame is super.

It grew power brakes somewhere along the way then.

Re: 1971 Blazer 4X4 New Arrival

I believe that in 1971 when disc brakes became standard on the front, you also got the power brake with it. Which would make the power brakes NOT an option, they were standard. No power steering though. DAMN.

Yes , I am keeping the 6 cylinder engine. Gas is going crazy here. Regular gas here is $1.29 a litre, thats $5.16 a gallon. How about that one. We are being ripped off so bad here on gas. The Government regulates the prices. Imagine that. I wonder who is lining their pockets on this scam.

Re: 1971 Blazer 4X4 New Arrival

Not sure if it crossed over into Blazers/Jimmy's, but my old 72 GMC 2wd half ton was a 250/3tree truck, no PS, no PB (with factory front disks), and the only listed options on the SPID were "black seat belts" and "dark yellow" paint. Was a no factory stereo truck too.

So I'd guess that somebody added PB to yours along the way unless Blazers/Jimmys were special when it came to I6 powertrains.

My blazer also has the 250 and power brakes. The power brakes are not listed on the SPID.
