light switch help
okay guys were is the ground wire for the light swith its self ,or is it self grounding

I believe it is self grounding through the dash attachment. There should also be a grounding tab on the light switch frame, but this is for operating the dome light. The dome light receives constant power direct to the bulb, and operation is controlled by the ground.
To eliminate grounding problems in the dash, I ran a separate ground wire from the engine block where the negative battery cable connects, to the pedal support. All gauge grounds connect to the pedal support, and this also provides a positive ground for the dash itself. It's an easy way to avoid those hard to diagnose electrical gremlins. Thanks for the help im working on a 1968 that may have helped.I got the truck yesterday its been butchered all the wiring is messed up bad the alt wire was melted and the tail lights went even hooked up,i got the tail lights to work with a test wire from the battery. The truck keeps blowing fuses at the battery when the alt is hooked up i can start the truck when all the alt wires are off. Any ideas, thanks again for the help its needed

Dude, if you can afford it, replace that harness, you will have nothing but problems in the future if you dont, I sure did.

I dont have a ground on mine. Its just a constant hot to the switch and the different outputs from there. It will work wether its mounted or not.
