floor shifter connection to transmission?
6.0 swap using 700r4 tranny 82 C10 shortbed
Attached pic shows column shift linkage hitting O2 sensor position on driver side header. Would a floor shifter solve this or does it use the same set up, only relocating the shifter location in the cab? Can this problem be solved by switching to a floor shifter. |

Re: floor shifter connection to transmission?
Personally I think it would be a lot easier to just move the O2 sensor...

Re: floor shifter connection to transmission?
This my attempt at 1 3/4" primary long tube headers.
I eventually plan to go to a floor shifter later, but will do it sooner if it provides a solution to this problem. If switching to a floor shift does not change the use of the horizontal bracket/rod, then moving the bung sounds like the way to go. These are Schoenfeld 1302 LS 1 headers intended for the 88 thru 98 1500s the driver side slips in so nicely from below, and the passenger side needs a little work on the no. 2 cyl exhaust tube. Thanks for the reply |

Re: floor shifter connection to transmission?
If you add a floor shifter, that what's geting in tha way is not needed. You can jus remove it.

Re: floor shifter connection to transmission?
thanks for the info.
I wasn't sure how the floor shifter works or connects because I have never had one. |

Re: floor shifter connection to transmission?
My B&M Megashifter uses a cable which you can route how you want.

Re: floor shifter connection to transmission?
Just remember, you don't want your O2 at 6 o'clock or "straight down" as moisture will collect on and in it and it'll go bad quickly.

Re: floor shifter connection to transmission?
agree with the floor shifter I have a b&m also and with the cable wont even be close to the sensor or that side of the header collector.
