Newbie Vacuum Rats nest

Hello,

I recently recieved a 1984 C10 with an inline 6.

A couple of years ago it had it's head planed down due to warping. The gentleman who did the work is a pretty good backyard mechanic. However, I have vacuum lines that are all over the place and I'm not sure what is supposed to go where.

Can anyone point me in the right direction of figuring out what gets plugged into where? This is a great concern because I didn't pass Ohio's emission test and their is little to no vacuum going to the distributor.

Thanks,

Welcome to the board! Don't know if I'm having a network problem or what, but it's Monday afternoon the 24th and from the looks of my screen, no one has posted at all since Friday night. Anyway, go here:

There's a bunch of vacuum diagrams there.

Hope that helps!

You are awesome

Thank you! I couldn't find the info at the library or from a dealership.

This forum is great! I'm hooked.

Unhappy Swap I-6

If I did swap I'd move up to a 292. I beat the truck in my younger years, my father used it for hauling coal and shale up and down Pennsylvania hills, It never died (except when we ran it with no oil). Although it doesn't have much power, I fell in love with the inline 6. What I would like to do, however, is drop a five speed in it and learn more about what rear end ratio would suit for highway traveling since I moved to the flat lands of Ohio. Posi-Traction would be nice. My wife continues to remind me of budget constraints too.
