What would you trade for?

I'm seriously thinking about trading or selling my 2 week old 88 burb. I never haul people and could use a pickup more. What should I trade for? I'd like to have a 4x4, but it's not a necessity. It should get at least 12mpg(current burb mpg). Feel free to post a North Carolina ad link.

These are a few of my considerations.

Re: What would you trade for?

The C30. Pretty sweet, and if you re-sell, you'd make a good profit.

I don't see a "trade" option in any of those you have linked?

Re: What would you trade for?

Definitely the '69 C30. That thing is just too cool. I'm a 4x4 guy and I would still take that thing over the crew cab.

Re: What would you trade for?

What do you guys think about this for a CL ad?

Quote:
1988 Chevy Silverado Suburban 1/2 ton 4x4

145,XXX original miles

5.7L(350ci) Throttle Body Injection(TBI)

700R4 Automatic Overdrive Transmission

NP208 Transfer Case (4HI - 4LO - 2HI)

10 Bolt 3.73 Front and rear(Posi) axles

Warn Premium 4WD locking hubs

Power windows

Power tailgate window

Power locks

Dark Tinted Windows

Cruise Control

Tilt Steering wheel

Power brakes

Power steering

Rear window defrost

Front and rear A/C (Needs a recharge)

Front and rear(with rare cover) heat (Rear heat is currently disconnected because it takes up room and it's the summer)

AM/FM/Cassette Original Radio (Dash is uncut)

Rally wheels with center caps and beauty rings

3 Rows of seats for a total of 8 passengers

Kelsey Brake Controller

7-Pin Trailer wiring harness

Pushbar front bumper installed when the chief owned it

Chrome rear bumper

Chrome Roof Rack

Chrome rear spoiler

1000 CA /800 CCA Battery

Class III Trailer Hitch

40 Gallon Fuel Tank

Oil Cooler

Transmission Cooler

Fire Extinguisher

30X9.50R15 Tires with a couple thousand miles left on them

Has been an extremely well maintained rescue truck its entire life. It was the Chief's truck and was ordered fully loaded back in 1988.

The entire brake system was replaced 3000 miles ago.

You can't tell the truck has 145XXX miles on it. It has plenty of power and shifts firm like a 700R4 should.

The interior is PERFECT, it looks like a showroom truck. The front seats were recovered by the chief a few years ago with original style material and the threads came loose, so there are seat covers on the front two seats.

The chief told me the four wheel drive works great, I have not needed to use it, so I do not know.

The truck does not burn oil or antifreeze and does not leak at all

The transmissions fluid is red like it should be

The NADA value of the truck is a low of $2800, an average of $5600, and a high of $7600.

The bad: Needs new reverse light bulbs. The "C" in CERT on the side needs to be taken off for obvious legal reasons. The truck gives out a small puff of smoke that is barely noticable when it starts cold.

Re: What would you trade for?

Nice CL ad!

Makes me want to buy it! Too bad I'm as broke as a $2 watch.

Good luck! I don't think you'll have any trouble selling it.

I hate it too. But with less that 100K on it. Plus it will get an FSO-6064 6-speed.

Re: What would you trade for?

First one, classy looking work truck.

I'd rather hitchhike a mile with a Chevy hubcap under my arm than be seen driving a Dodge.
My old man always told me that Dodge trucks were like fat, ugly hookers. Not really all that bad, but you sure don't want your friends to see you with one.
I owned one for about 6 months. It was the coldest natured, cheapest built POS I've ever owned.
