Which windshield seal
Wondering if anybody had any expierence with windshields from any companys. I have found a lot of threads on changing windshields but I want to know if there is any 1 better seal than other. Does 1 fit better than the other? I know about the with or without thing. I want to know about fit and finish. How does it look installed? I am replacing my windshield with a new 1 and want to buy a new seal. Or should I just get the GM from Classic Industries for $$$. I stay away from Larry Moe Curly!
I want it to look factory as I am restoring this thing to look damn nice. Any thoughts?? Thanks, Brian |

Re: Which windshield seal
I had a company come out and replace my windshield. They did it for about the same price I could buy the glass and trim and do it myself. Turns out I ended up helping the fella do the install anyway. I dunno what brand seal he had, but it was the standard version, as I requested, and it fit good. Looks good after installed too.

Re: Which windshield seal
In my experience, the aftermarket windshield seals are slightly narrower than the stock GM ones, so I would get GM OEM if you want a stock look. When the windshield on my 86 was replaced recently you can see a paint line of the original paint color because of the narrower aftermarket seal. Mine was the lock strip style. Try OEHQ and OE Warehouse to see if the have OEM at a good price.
