brake power booster check valve

I have a 1993 GMC K1500 with a 4.3l engine and have run into interesting problem while trying to change the booster check valve. the only available check valves(NAPA,AUTOZONE) the inlet, engine side, is considerably smaller than what is already in the truck. The guy at NAPA had never seen one with that inlet hose size. Has anyone run into this or do I have a mutant, jacklegged part. Tried to boil the hose to fit the stainlees steel line and now have a lovely burn. HELP!!

Re: brake power booster check valve

I find it hard to believe no one has run into this. A friend of mine owns a carquest and has never hear of or seen a 1/2 x1/2 check valve on a booster pump. Before anyone starts in on me there have not been any junkyards or pic-n-pulls around here for at least twenty years.
