Wheel Mounting Help

I posted this on the main page but hopefully Ill get some help in here. There has always been a bigger 4X4 crowd in here. I got new XD series wheels. They fit but is 3/8-1/2" enough clearance between the steering knuckle and the wheel. I wasn't sure how much the wheel could flex and possibly hit the knuckle. Also I need to get longer studs for the lugs to get the wheels to go on. I think I am going to need a lug nut like 68187L in this link

Has anyone ever run with a 1/4" spacer? is it safe. If you want to see some pictures follow the below link.

I have KMC wheels (addicts) in 17x9 with 4.5" backspacing. They fit fine. The knuckle and steering are fine as long as there is no contact.

As for the wheel studs I also ran into issues with minimal thread engagement. The wheel studs were not long enough the pass through the thicker mounting flange of the wheels. My solution was to put in longer wheel studs - but I also swapped over to 8 lugs to match the 14 bolt in the rear. I can give you more detail on my solution if you want but I am not sure how it will work in your specific application.

Well I got the wheel on the studs ended up being long enought to hold the wheel on. I am still a little worried about the steering arm up front. I've found a few places that make a hubcentric spacer that looks like it would work really well. I'm still going to have to modify the hub cover to fit over the lock out. The cover might end up being to deep. Ill pic some more pictures as time warrants.

why cover the hub selector?

I wasn't going to cover it, but I don't ever use it, don't even have my front drive shaft in. Maybe I could cover it. I'm sure a buch of people will give me slack for that one.
