In Cab Gas Tank Mod for EFI Upgrade
I'm in process of installing a Smeding Performance 383 with the Accel DFI system in the '66...for the required 5/16 fuel line return, I was thinking of just putting a bulkhead connector in the general location of the fuel sending unit top...will this work OK or does the return need to dump into some specific area of the tank?
Thanks In Advance! |

Re: In Cab Gas Tank Mod for EFI Upgrade
I read somewhere that the fuel return line should extend down into the fuel almost to the bottom of the tank. Something about the flow creating a potential static spark condition if it just spills into the top of the tank. The jet liner that went down in the Atlantic off NY a few years back was mentioned.

Re: In Cab Gas Tank Mod for EFI Upgrade
agreed, you don't want the fuel to just dump in. i would modify the sending unit to extend the return down close to the bottom of the tank. unless you can run a dead head fuel system.

OK - modifying the sending unit seems like a clean way of doing this. Thanks!
