CPP Drop Spindles hitting upper control arms
Hi guys,
I installed my drop spindles from CPP and the steering is bound right tight, after looking at it, the upper control arm is hitting the top ball joint perch. Has this been seen before? How have people remedied this?. Thanks Lucas |

Re: CPP Drop Spindles hitting upper control arms
I have westerns from CPP and without the weight of the motor etc over them mine do the same, worst case you will have to do as mentioned before, it's not a major but if they're already painted it's frustrating

Re: CPP Drop Spindles hitting upper control arms
Just make sure you have the correct upper ball joint in place as well. A ball joint with the wrong taper can allow the upper arm to sit closer to the spindle.
If it's just the matter of a fat casting on the spindle... grind away. Definitely not fun if you have already coated and finished the parts. Nate

Re: CPP Drop Spindles hitting upper control arms
I'm 99% sure I have the right ball joint, it's a 70 and pretty sure these spindles were supposed to be good for the 70 ball joint.
Fastwillie what do you mean by new upper shafts? Is there supposed to be any differences in them from the originals? I put new MOOG ones in all arms already. |

Just when through the same thing, a few minutes with the grinder using a flap wheel took care of it.

I tried diff ball joints and no help it hits when I air up the suspension. Grinder would suck parts are powder coated. I called CPP and got no help I even ended up buying there ball joints and no good. I just figured I wouldn't drive it at full lift anyway but still bothers me
