Where is it leaking? Shaft? between pump and block? around hoses?

Couldn't really tell. It was running down the front of the motor. All I know is it stopped.

Re: Normal???
I wouldn`t call that normal. Are you sure it wasn`t just residual coolant?

Re: Normal???
I would keep a close eye on it. If it leaks any more you have issues. If it aint broke don't fix it.

Re: Normal???
Can't see it leaking anywhere but the fluid is going somewhere. Not in the oil pan (checked it 1st!!). Radiator drops about 6 inches to work and the same back. That's about 15 miles round trip, about a gallons worth. Any ideas?

Re: Normal???
If its leaking, pull it off, get new gaskets. Get a can of high tack valve sealant. Clean it up really good. And put it back together. I had no leaks when I installed mine and still don't several months later.

Re: Normal???
A few years ago in the fall i had changed the water pump late into the night on my 89
used water checked it for leaks with water went to bed woke up the next day ran the truck down the street to get anti freeze the block froze and cracked leaked all over mine cracked around the engine mount but the leak came out the bottom in the same area hope yours has another reason, like just a bad rebuild

Re: Normal???
I just put it on the block, and the water pump that was it. and then put the gasket in between, dont over do it of course. But high tack gasket sealant is tons better than rtv sealant, and a million times better than that orange rubber S***.
Did you buy a rebuild or a brand new one?
