Top texture

Has anyone here used this stuff on their top? I really like the texture and want to use it on my top. Gator guard seems too rough for me. If someone has used this can you just paint the top with it and be done or does it need to be top coated? You can buy it in quarts as well.

Im not liking any results with bedliner either. This stone guard stuff was posted on a previous thread (I cant find) and I saved the pic from it. Wish I knew who posted it. Here is a pic of the stuff on a top.

Iwish I knew who posted it so I could ask if it needs to be top coated or how it holds up.

Re: Top texture

You might check with the manufacture if a tint can be added to the mix which would take less time as a all in one job, that is what I did with my bedliner for my top here's a pic

Re: Top texture

Member BobbyK has a picture scrapbook located here, Repainting Factory Blazer Top, that might help you. If I read his captions correctly, he did a bedliner first, then after a year he repainted because the bedliner began to discolor. Check it out and see if it helps. Check out his other Blazer related pictures, too. Very cool stuff.

Re: Top texture

Brian, i used the stone guard and posted those pics. worked great for me, you need to be careful as you spray because the texture changes to larger blotches as the can nears empty, i would stop spraying when the can in 3/4 empty. I put a top coat on mine (not positive it needed one) and it is holding up very well.
