I am looking for a good tailgate for a 71 GMC Sierra. If it is straight, rust free, and not too dented then I am interested. If anyone in Arizona has one I could come and pick it up, otherwise I would pay to have one shipped.

Here's the best one I have. Original paint with a few small dings. No rust. $200 plus $95 shipping on Greyhound bus. Currently on a Jimmy, but was originally a truck gate. Thanks, Sharpie

I have a decent gate with just a couple small pin holes of rust at the bottom if interested. I'll get pictures later.

Sharpie, That one looks pretty good. I have never really paid attention to a blazer, is the piece that is screwed on the backside the only thing that separates a pickup and blazer tailgate? I assume you added it because of the blazer?
I am a little concerned about what it would take to get that dent out of the top. What are your thoughts on what it would take to get that out?

Yes, Blazer and truck gates are the same other than the trim piece screwed to the top. Top rail dents are tough. I've seen similar fixed with a stud gun and some patient pulling work. Sharpie

I have a near perfect GMC gate that still has original paint. I was told that it was taken off when the truck was a year or two old. It is VERY nice. Ive been hanging on to it for a few years, but doubt Ill ever have a GMC to use it on. I might sell it for the right price. Not sure if the shipping would kill the deal or not. Here's one off a 1970. It is in excellent condition with only a couple minor dings. The finish panel is in excellent condition. I have taken the panel screws for my 72 if interested I will try to find some replacements. 375.00 plus shipping.

I'm looking for a 1972 GMC LWB tailgate too. I'm doing a patina restoration,so I need a medium blue t/g that is rust and dent free and faded paint. My tailgate is rust free, but bent out about an inch from heavy loads?
