Oh man! I'd love to convert that to a 4x4! I wonder how much it would cost in gas to get that thing back to California.

Re: CL not mine ambulance

A friend of a friend of mine is selling this, offered it to me a few weeks ago. Too far and I have no money or it would be mine. Only reason I didn't post it here is because I'd really like to see it stay an ambulance. It is probably the only remaining example left from this coach builder, and there were probably less than 25 to begin with.

Re: CL not mine ambulance

several years ago my daughter was taking me to downtown yazoo city to show us where they filmed the woolworth scene in bro where art thou? & i spied an old caddy at a funeral home. we stopped on the way back & it was a superior ambulance. i bought it fo $700 the next week & it was a '67. 52k miles, NO rot, dents or even a cracked glass! had to clean the tank & it ran perfect! i will post a story about it in the gen discussion forum later. we had some kinda fun in that caddy! my son wanted to 4wd it so i took it to the sale & it is in baton rouge delivering sea food now. i hear he painted charlie tunas & flippers all over it. hey what do the want for the old '63 ambulance anyway?

That engine looks like it has 117,000 instead of 17.

Yeah, I felt guilty posting that I wanted to modify it- It really should be restored back to stock- that's always a war I'm fighting with myself, I have a 64 factory 4x4 sub that's rotted to hell- it would be easier to "Jeep" the roof than repair all of the rust, but I just cant get myself to do it.

I am a fan of easily reversible modifications, however.
