That looks yummy! I love Tamales but I can't find any good ones in Iowa. When we come to Texas at Christmas time my Son-In-Law gets me some good homemade ones. Now I'm hungry... LockDoc

Looks yummay!
You didn't mention details though. Green or black, pits or none? Best Tamales I ever had were green olives with the pits. |

Aw man now I'm hungry. Now I need to get me some of those, being from the Central valley I have lots of good choices. Usually the best ones are found out of the back of someone's car.

That is a very true statement. My tamales came from the back of a white TahoeI avoid big chain fast food crap when I eat stuff I don't make myself. Some of the best meals I have ever had came out of run down, hole in the wall Ma and Pop establishments. When I'm out of town and have a itch for some BBQ,I look for the smokey little rusty tin roof type place.Maybe its just me,but I don't like the idea of eating something that was made in a minute and a half. The moral of the story ison't be scared of food out of the back of some one's car,you may stumble upon the best thing you ever ate

I've seen tailgate parties, but this is the first time I've see a hood party. Chili today, hot tamale.

Re: Hot Tamales! Making good use of my hood!!
Lots of Tamale vendors in Tx sell out of the back of a car. Some even send their sons into bars with coolers full of Tamales and burritos.Theirs are always good. The other spots to find good tamales and burrittos is the junky little travel trailer conversion in the gas station parking lot. Those you have to be a bit more careful of.
