I dont think it would work. you have to get the blocks machined to fit the bigger crank because of the longer stroke. if not the counterweights will hit the block.

Re: Need some help with 350

nope, and nope.

it's not a 383 crank, it's a 400 crank and in order to be 383 it has to be bored to .030 oversized.

any cam pretty much bigger then stock is gonna require a tune.

Re: Need some help with 350

Scat and Eagle both make 3.75 stroke crankshafts with a 1pc rear main seal and 350 mains. You would need to change the pistons and clearance the block, the rod bolts end up hitting the pan rail and the bottom of the cylinders on the cam side. The counterweights are not a problem. My guess is if you kept everything else stock the truck would run alright and the computer would learn up and compensate for the larger fuel demand. Good luck!!

Re: Need some help with 350

sean 1969c10 hit it right on the head. i wasnt quite sure if it was the counterweights or the connecting rods that need more clearance. and as for a cam what do you have in mind? something very mild would probably work, but these motors are pretty fussy when it comes to little changes. id recommend going to tbichips.com ive heard nothing but good from them and they have tons of information on their site about what cam, heads etc...
