Vintage Air with Smooth Firewall?
The last big milestone of my build has arrived. The Vintage Air system. This weekend I went thru the parts and got acquainted with the instructions. I have a smooth firewall so I picked up an aluminum bulkhead for the firewall connection. I'll get started on the install sometime this week.
I was wondering how you guys with smooth firewalls routed your lines? Please post pics if you got em. I'd also like to see where you put the drip tube. I want to keep the install as clean as possible and limit additional holes in the firewall.

Hey guys here is what I did with mine. The only thing that I would do differently is move the bulkhead over towards the pass side as far as I could. For the drain tube I drilled a hold just under the unit, and I ran it out put a 90 on it as soon as I came out of the fire wall then ran it down the back side of the inner fender. It has worked out very well, and you can't really see it. If you need more pictures just let me know.

68BBC, thanks for posting pics. I was thinking to add two 90 degree fittings at the bulkhead and run the A/C lines thru the space between the fender and inner fender. The heater lines would run directly from the bulkhead to the pump and intake.
I would like to find a compressor manifor adapter similar to the one made by Billet Specialties. It wraps around the compressor and positions the fittings towards the bottom (see pic) I'm not sure if it fits my P412 compressor or if they sell it separately. ![]()

I have classic auto air which is technically the same we ran my a/c lines thru the inside of the fender but did not connect the heater as living in florida there is no need for it.In the second pict you can see how we got the lines inside the cab.here is a pict hope it gives you an idea.

Big Al that is nice! No doubt you had to drop the passenger side fender. Did you use a bulkhead at all? Hows the wind noise coming into the cab? You got me thinking about deleting the heater lines all together. Texas is no Florida but I rarely drive in the winter.

I went with an inline 4 port bulkhead and built all my own lines using Aeroquip fittings and hoses. Under the dash I used the hoses and fitting supplied by Vintage Air.
