Help with 1954 e-brake cables.
I am doing a complete brake job on the new 54. I hit a wall with the e-brake cables. The original stuff is gone and there isnt a good picture in the book. How/where are the ends of the cables supposed to look in the hold down brackets mounted to the frame??? Anyone have a picture?

Re: Help with 1954 e-brake cables.
I think you have the wrong cables,
Contact Control Cables Inc they will make you a set that fits your brake drum e-brake lever and mount to the crossbar behind the cab, you are missing the clevis and pin on the pic you have. This is the before cable, CCI sent me the right ones with a few measurments, give them a call

Re: Help with 1954 e-brake cables.
Thanks..I will make a few calls today. I have looked in a couple of catalogs and the ones I got did match the pictures however we all know how that is. I know I am missing the cleveses...its the clamping part I was confused about.
Thanks for the help.

Re: Help with 1954 e-brake cables.
The clamping part is built into the outside part of the cable housing which slides thrugh the stationary part of the chassis and clamps with a bolt and nut,

Re: Help with 1954 e-brake cables.
Thats what I figured....I just wanted to make sure I had the correct cable and its placement location in the clamp before I tightened it down. Center of the clamp? front of the clamp? back of the clamp?

Re: Help with 1954 e-brake cables.
I am told to slide it all the way through and then clamp it down on the crimped part of the end. We will see how that works. It looks like they are the correct cable but they have a different end from the original ones.
