Light module behind heater control?

Does anyone know where I can get a replacement and the part number for this light module that plugs in behind the heater control?

Thanks,

Tom

I guess I don't know the right name for it. What's the black thing with the clips that the bulb attaches to called? It looks like however the wire attaches to it is broken.

Re: Light module behind heater control?

Its a bulb socket, some auto parts stores sell them or hit the wrecking yard and clip one out of a harness.

Re: Light module behind heater control?

Advanced auto or Napa should carry a universal bulb socket with a pigtail you can splice into your wire harness. The same thing happened to me years ago. That's what I did. Hope this helps

i've found the new ones at autoparts stores to b poor at best// i've gone thru junkyards clipping different sockets from 50's-70's vehicles and found them to b of alot higher quality and fit

Re: Light module behind heater control?

I had the same issue, I found this bulb socket at radio shack:

http://www.radioshack.com/product/in...ductId=2062366

it ends up being just the right diameter to fit into the hole, and it comes with green or red lenses...or you can go without one...my green film was worn away from the factory plexi, so I used the green one..looks great

Re: Light module behind heater control?

I found one in a 1971 LeSabre at the junk yard. It's getting hard to find older vehicles in the junk yards around here. They have gone to the pick and pull type places that crush them too quickly.

Re: Light module behind heater control?

Tell us the year of your truck. I just had to remedy the same situation. I had the bulb but dont remember the part number. As for the socket, like me, you may be able to remove the connector, the old wiring and strip a new end of the harness. If its like mine it'll be the grey wire from the harness.
Here is a pic of my restored dash harness. The SOCKET and bulb you speak of is the single wire plug in the center of the pic on the upper (top) of the harness. I've gotta do some work to my truck tomorrow, I'll get the part number for the bulb.
**just pulled the bulb...1895**

Re: Light module behind heater control?

The same thing happened to mine I used a spade wire connector. Inserted through the bottom bent it 90 with the spring from a pen cut to make contact. Works just fine but at the time I was in the middle of a project and did not want to stop to find a new one. I'm also cheep that way.

Re: Light module behind heater control?

Thanks guys. It's a 1972 C10. I found a socket that will work from a 1971 LeSabre at the junk yard so I'm good.
