1972 C30 camper Special Cab/chassis

I am looking for information, pictures, whatever for a 72 c-30 camper special. Supposedly GM made a cab and chassis with a camper body on it. Not a bed mounted camper, no bed at all.I recently purchased a cab and chassis, factory air, BB, buckets w/no console, no gas tank behind the seat. After stripping the paint, it appears that at some point someone had repaired the back of the cab where a pass through from camper to cab was.I didn't know if the factory ever did these. I remember seeing some trucks with campers way back when but never cared enough at that time.

custom camper
Camper special was a ford in 67 - 72.
Someone had to do it.
GM didn't install the camper body. All they did was provide a cab/chassis with this and that options, and then the camper outfitter did the rest, to includ chopping the back wall.

True, they were done by camper upfitters post sale and also could be ordered through the dealers. The dealers would have arrangements with camper companies and financing would be under one roof,so to speak. Also,GM had a direct program with Open Road Campers, but still not technically "factory-built".

It was probably a "Minnie Winnie" wenabego made in that era. But being its a BB with A/C yes most deffinitly was a cab and chassie from the factory and then upfitted by a RV/Camper company. BTW you ready for Spring Carlisle, The fairground is probably your neighbor!
