My new C10
What's up guys. Well need less to say that the 85 SWB I bought on an impulse buy was a rust bucket, so I cut my losses and sold it. I came across this truck when I was driving around town. The guy was literally just putting on the for sale sign when I drove by. It was meant to be because this truck is so clean and priced just right. Its a 1981 SWB C10 power locks, manual windows, original bench and interior, has a 12 bolt diff, dropped 4.5 in the front. It has a super fresh 355 SBC with a small cam, long tubes, 4150 holley, edelbrock EPS intake, 2.5 xpipe and ebay flowmasters dumped after the cab mated to. A700r4 (that's gonna go). This is my question and I need advice. I just came across a LQ4 super cheap and I'm thinking of putting it in this truck with a carb style setup and a TH400 OR should I do a fuel injected setup with the TH400? Mind you this is not a daily, its going to be a weekend toy and go to shows.
Here's a pic of it outside. Let me know what y'all think. Posted via Mobile Device Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: My new C10
Exterior
It needs minor body work but is all rust free. Going to paint it all stock white without the dumbo mirrors, it will get all the OEM exterior trim and fender emblems. Interior Its all stock for now but it will be getting a black dashboard, black door panels, black carpet, bucket seats probably from Pro Car and a custom console with an offset 3 speed floor shifter fitted into the custom console to come. 355 SBC, Hedman Long Tubes, 750CFM Holley 4150, mild cam (don't know what it is, but its not radical), Edelbrock EPS intake manifold. Just to move it around for now. Look what I got a junk yard for super cheap. 2000 LQ4 iron block and iron head motor. Thinking about going fuel injected and doing some 317 heads on a 76 mm snail, mated to a TH400, Moser stuffed stock 12 bolt and cal tracs to cruise around and take to car shows. Just for a cruiser. I don't like the steering of these trucks, it feels like a boat. I'm going to maybe make a clone of this gorgeous one that was here on the forums. I can't state how gorgeous and simple this truck was. Or maybe like this one just not as low. |
