Ebay sleeper for sale!!!
Price is on the steep end, but a nice 6.0 and magnacharger are worth a good bit of that since they are installed. Seems like a solid truck but I'd need to see it in person.
Definitely a sleeper (other than the sound I assume) and seems like there's a LOT left in the 6.0 with some more tuning/mods http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...SS:MOTORS:1123

Re: Ebay sleeper for sale!!!
I wouldnt mind owning it! The price would be fair if the swap/supporting mods/drivetrain are up to snuff. Looks to be in decent shape really... could be alot of fun out on the streets or at the grudge races.

Re: Ebay sleeper for sale!!!
$15,500 seems pretty steep to me but everyone has their own opinion. Im not sure how much the cost would be to install that drivetrain but I cant imagine it would be that much. I could be naive.....it wouldnt be the first time i'd heard that in my life!

First thing that has to go is the clutch pedal! Why would you leave that in?

Re: Ebay sleeper for sale!!!
That's real nice and certainly worth the asking price. That swap does cost a bit,but don't forget it's sitting in a solid original short bed '68 truck. And,it has a rebuilt posi rear,Griffin radiator, gauges,a nicely installed new rear tank, and more. You couldn't build one for that and if you want shiny paint or flashy wheels it's ready for your choice.

I know a lot say they don't have this kind of money but if we all looked at what we've invested in projects...we'd realize if we just put that in a truck savings account we'd have close to the buy it now amount if not much more for some on here I have 6K worth of NOS parts alone for my 72 super build and another 6K in other parts plus the purchase price and time/money to drive to pick up parts. Probably 16K into that truck that is a frame and a cab sitting in my garage with the rest of the parts in boxes I'd much rather have this truck at the present point

Re: Ebay sleeper for sale!!!
Yeah,I said all that and it's out of my price range . Doesn't mean it's not worth it. The last time I guesstimated what I'll have into my '67 project it was $15,000. And,that's not the final cost by any means. That's just to have about all the parts, including a rust free cab for $500. Most parts I got bargains on. It's all OEM rust free. It's all built off a frame I bought for $1,000 that was already lowered, everything new, clean, and painted. Just the lowering parts would have been $800.
I know I'd be dollars ahead to buy something like this one. Other than the fact my money won't allow it,I also just want to build my own my way regardless of the cost. But,if my money was like it used to be I'd be driving one I bought that was turn key while enjoying building my project. I'd sure enjoy it more if I had one to drive. Derned economy!

Re: Ebay sleeper for sale!!!
That is why I get on this sight and read so much. I would never have thought this truck was even close to having that much money in it.
I like the idea that it is a true sleeper. Put on a set of bib overalls and a straw hat and go make some little boys on main street cry all the way home in their 5.0s!!! |

Re: Ebay sleeper for sale!!!
Awesome truck, and not a horrible price. I did get a chuckle out of the 6 cylinder fan shroud, nothing wrong with it, just made me laugh.

Also, if it's been put together right, the price isn't far off of what it would cost most people on here to build, most people truely don't realize what it involves to build something like this, and also don't take into consideration all the small things that nickle and dime you to death. |

Re: Ebay sleeper for sale!!!
id trade mine for it. if i could do mine over again, i would just fix the rust, save 5k on paint alone and make it immaculate under the hood with an ls7. make it a sleeper.

Re: Ebay sleeper for sale!!!

Re: Ebay sleeper for sale!!!
With that much power and an O/D transmission you don't NEED a low gear. The lower first gear in the O/D compensates enough to get you up on boost. Once your there, hang on....
