What All Would You Add Or Take Away From This 67

A friend of mine came by the other day with his 67 after getting it painted . He has put power brakes and power steering on it and a rebuilt 350/350 . with dual exhaust.

He hasnt decided about the chrome ring around the lights .. put them on or leave them off.. I thought I would ask you which you like best. and what else we can give him our 2 cents on ..LOL

______________________________________________________

My friend appreciates all the ideas and was wanting to know if you all would give him an idea of what his truck would sell for if he sold it as is .. He has a 68 that is main ride and is thinking if he puts more into the truck he would be worse off than if he just sold it as is right now.

Re: What All Would You Add Or Take Away From This 67

Personally, i think i'd paint the chrome grille insert pieces black..
Get some sport mirrors.
Add in the headlight pieces. maybe blacken those? or leave em chrome with the bumper.
To me, somethin's missing.. Maybe different wheels? No, not some 22" chrome spinny wheels.. But just some nice clean ones.

Well, it looks pretty clean with the painted ones but I like a little bling, so I would get some new polished ones and see how it looks with them. Other than that it looks perfect to me...

I would paint the lip around the headlights silver or chrome, just not the whole bezel.

like this:

I always thought that the one of the best parts about the 67/68 was the aluminum pieces. They add just the right amount of shiny! By far the sexiest front end ever put on the front of a pickup So yeah, chrome the headlight bezels.

With bright aluminum grill ovals, he should have the bright aluminum headlight bezels. WES

Re: What All Would You Add Or Take Away From This 67

I typed without reading other replies so it wouldn't sway me.

I would do the chrome headlight buckets.
Paint the inner parts of the grill black, not the grille itself, but the two inner rings between the grill and the radiator, they are blue now.
Put sport mirrors on it.
Lose the 4x4 ralley wheels.

Maybe paint the top white. Photoshop could help with that decision.
Maybe add the front 68 trim, again photoshop could help with that.

That's a nice truck! Yes on the chrome headlight trim. I'd paint the top, and the grill area white. I think that would look great with a mild drop. Tinted glass would look nice also. The only thing I don't care for is the mirrors.

Chrome headlight rims, side trim, round mirrors, and I'd take the 36" street tall tires off of it and call it good!

Re: What All Would You Add Or Take Away From This 67

Add the shine to grill/headlights and put on side trim. Good lookin truck, just looks a little basic for all the work i'm sure he's put into it. Maybe wheels if the funds allow...

Re: What All Would You Add Or Take Away From This 67

Thanks to all and I will relay all these ideas on to the owner.. I ask him what he has been doing to his 68 step side SB and he said to me "it's at the painters" and he is selling the 67 . I personally like the lower chrome idea and take the long mirrors off and put some more chrome in the grille area.. Wheels would be last to upgrade to .

Re: What All Would You Add Or Take Away From This 67

I'd recommend if for resale to do the headlight bezels and try to sell that way. Keep the blue painted ones and have pictures for the potential buyer.

If keeping, I'd do side trim on that truck, sport or small round mirrors, and paint the grille area and roof white.

I was going to type my opinion w/o reading any others, but read `em instead. and I totally agree with Tim here. And,I'd leave those mirrors that belong on it be.

Put the Chrome Headlight Rings back on.
Lower it all around, (but leave a slight Rake in the back).
Loose the Side Mirrors, (and go with a Peep).
Get ride of the Wheels and at LEAST go with Silver Ralley or Chrome Ralley Wheel.

After looking at the Pictures again, I relized it was a 4X4, so I don't know how much of what I would do,
would apply in this case. If it were me, I would sell it and get a 2WD, but again that is just me.

Dont get me wrong, its a beautiful Truck, I'm just not "into" 4X4 or Longbeds, when it comes to our Trucks.

Re: What All Would You Add Or Take Away From This 67

chrome headlight triim, paint inner grill pieces black, body colored ralleys, sport or chevelle mirrors, smaller tire to fill weel opening after you lower to taste. Great looking truck as it sits, just some things I'd do if it was mine.

Making it a two-tone and then using some dark center TQ's would look nice. Maybe the two-tone could be a contrasting, i.e., darker, shade of the same blue color...make it a little richer-looking...in my opinion. A decrease in altitude would also make it more appealing, to me....if I was driving it.

But, it looks good like it is and I'd drive it just like that.

I'm partial to a white
"face" on 67-68's. A white top maybe. That is just.....words fail me Maybe lower (both ends) with lower profile tires?
That is a pretty truck!
