Classic Industries Carpet!

I just got my new carpet from Classic Industries and I am very impressed. It is first class all the way.
My truck is a 71 4WD.It has a floor shifter from the PO.Should I remove the shifters for the install,or just try to measure it out?I would hate to ruin such a nice carpet.

Re: Classic Industries Carpet!

Definitely remove the shifter. Remove anythithig that may get in the way. Just did this not to long ago and you will be doing some stretching so remove all obstacles.

I tried a search on "Best Carpet" with no real results.
I want the best I can get regardless of price. Any suggestions?

Try: http://www.stockinteriors.com/AutoCa...=31&ModelId=88
They're a vender on this site, i was extremely pleased with their carpet. They actually make it there, think it cost $125.00. Great people, you actually get to talk to a real person when you call!

Re: Classic Industries Carpet!

There are probably no more than 2 companies that make carpet for these, ACC, and the other I don't remember the name. ACC seems to have the best distribution network and is more widely available. The vinyl carpet I got for mine was ACC. It fit real well.

transfer case lever was easy to remove. 1 cotter pin and a bolt with a 3/4" head on it. Good chance to paint the lever!

Re: Classic Industries Carpet!

My latest purchase of carpet came from here:

http://www.auto-interior.com/

I got the mass backed carpet, and it was money well spent.
The carpet fit was perfect, and the carpet quality is top notch!

The order process was easy and personal, and the ship time was about a week long.

Very satisfied, and I recommend them.

Re: Classic Industries Carpet!

To answer the original post... I'll remove the shifter if I do it again. I measured and got it wrong. Now I have a 6" cut in my carpet right at the shifter hole. It's not too noticeable but I know it's there so it bugs me.

anyone know of a company that sells pre-molded kits for the floor, but who will also sell you additional matching carpet by the yard?

Thanks,

Just looked at the box that my carpet came from, and it has the ACC logo on it so Auto-Interior resells it.
I think when I was shopping, Auto-Interior was the best deal. Plus they had my color in stock.

stockinteriors does i plan on ordering some extra with my carpet.http://www.stockinteriors.com

from there site/ "Stock Interiors is proud to offer the highest quality aftermarket Chevy Full Size Truck, Standard Cab carpet kits and floor mats available to the industry. All flat carpet is cut from the same high quality carpet that our molded carpet and cut and sewn carpet kits are made from. If you purchase your extra yardage at the same time as your Chevrolet Full Size Truck, Standard Cab molded carpet, then your flat carpet will be cut from the same roll, assuring you of a perfect color match. All yardage will come in a length of 1 yard, and if you order multiple yards, they will come as one piece. All yardage has a width of 76 inches except Tuxdeo loop, Daytona and Gros Point."
