Exclamation engine paint.advice plzzzzzz

hi guys

im in my way to instal v8 engine and sure i will paint the block .i cant take my mind for the color.

the engine will be chromed, such as valve covers ,water pump ,pulleys, intake ,booster, master cylinder etc etc

im thinking of :

1-black because its the best background for the chrome.

2-red to match the rims .but there are many red engines and i need to be a different .

3-white,i think it will be Unique and match the www tires and the roof , but my brother say it need too much care for the cleaning .

4-match the car paint . but the inner fender , inner hood and the fire wall and i think it will not be suitable .

5- matt gray to match the interior.

what you thinks guys? or is there any other color?

im not realy Encouraged for the 4 & 5th choices , buy maybe im wrong.

if you have pics , share it .

help plz

Re: engine paint.advice plzzzzzz

i say you just cannot go wrong with good ol chevy orange. A close second is gray I believe. Just personal taste, but I'm not a black engine fan - for some reason I always think folks paint engines black to hide the grease. Having said that, ALL my engines should be black.... I also like red to match the wheels, but if you ever repaint the wheels a different color, you're hosed. Orange ALWAYS good!! I like gold too for your style of truck - but I don't think it would work very well with a light blue body/red wheel combo.

I'm a big fan of orange for my Chevy engines. Black engines have their place, but I don't like them ithe older trucks as I do orange. Having said that, I think a gray might look good in your truck. What color are your inner fenders, radiator support and firewall?

Re: engine paint.advice plzzzzzz

I say go blue but paint your engine compartment black for contrast. White would look cool for about a day then you'd have to scrub it every five miles

How about a dark blue that would mix well with the chrome parts and the light blue....Vernski

Re: engine paint.advice plzzzzzz

My son has always painted his engines red, regardless of brand. He just prefers that engine color. Mine have generally been black, because I like the contrast between the chrome/aluminum and black components.

For your truck I like Vernski’s dark blue idea. It would provide great contrast with the chrome parts, and also blend well with the truck. If you ever changed wheels, it would still look good. Even if your inner fenders are black, I think the blue engine would look great. It would provide a rich color. I think black might seem too harsh with the color of the truck.

I like white engines in show roadsters, but I’ve never seen one in a driving vehicle that looked decent. The white paint stains easily and would be very difficult to keep clean in a full size truck with so much sheet metal around it.

I like the dark blue idea too. The gray might be cool too. I think the red/orange/black is a but overdone. That being said, i painted mine black

Re: engine paint.advice plzzzzzz

I'm changing my vote. I was thinking body color blue in my first post but dark blue would look sharp if your engine compartment is that light blue! Congrats on a very nice truck BTW!

I know you wouldn't like to go with the red that is on your wheels, but ....that would get my vote. Be nice contrast with the black and the blue.
