brake line replacement
Can anyone recommend a good place to look for replacement brake components, mainly brake line kits?
I have a 70 c-10, just installed front disks, rear drums. Its a frame off and wanted to start fresh with all new brake lines, any help would be greatly appreciated. |

Re: brake line replacement
I had to replace a brake line recently in my truck. I have a good quality tubing bender and a double flare tool. It was pretty easy to bend the line up myself. Since you have a frame off going it would be a great project to do an entire brake line system by bending and flaring yourself.
I plan on replacing all of mine one of these winters comin' up. I plan on doin' just that. Gary

Re: brake line replacement
Seams like it would be a lot of work to get the fit right around the cross member and what not. Is it a good savings to do it that way? Also this would be my first experience doing that besides pinching the line is there anything else to worry about when bending your own lines?

Re: brake line replacement
I'm about to do my brake lines too. I'm ordering my brake lines from either Summit Racing or Jegs. You can get the line in 20+ foot lengths so that you don't have a bunch of connections to worry about leaking. Just plan out your routing out so that its not in any pinch points or the line rubbing on something. im gonna run all new brake, transmission, and fuel lines on my truck.

Re: brake line replacement
That's where I got mine, great price, fast shipping and they look great. One tip if you do this is to follow the instructions that come with the kit, mainly to match up the new pieces with old. Unfortunatly, my ride didn't have a stock line in it, so figuring out where the shorter lines go is a little confusing.
