Dont have on but want one. It looks like a smaller one that come on big petes. They last long time if you grease the u-joints properly.

Re: Borgeson Steering Shaft?

Nope, I made mine using an Astro Van and stock 74 shaft, cut, flipped to work. $10 at the wrecking yard, plus a couple of set screws. Not as sleek as Borgeson but it's not a show car.

I do
I happen to be working from home today.
My first look I found the part # for the Vibration dampner u-joint.
Quik story ~ I bought the wrong one at first, painted it and tried to mount it after...they would NOT take it back cuz of the paint! BOOOoooooo, I sold it for 40 bucks.
Anyway
I bought the DD slipp shaft, cut to fit and the steering wheel end # I still need to find:
on 11/15/2004 ~
034940 = 3/4"DD & 13/16-36 spline

(I first bought 034934 = 3/4"DD & 3/4-36 spline)
It was $103.95 (back when I had lots of credit, Doooh!!)

I first bought the non-dampner version (cheeper) in the 90s. When I put the 454 in and uesd ORD engine mounts and started thinking alot more frame vibration will be present so I upgraded that part.

Re: Borgeson Steering Shaft?

I put one in the K5 I used to have. Good solid product. Installation is straight forward. Just be sure to paint it if you get the bare metal one.

Though I have to say that OrrieG's is a fantastic alternative.

Re: Borgeson Steering Shaft?

You could just go with a Jeep XJ shaft, that`s what I did. Cheap and effective, very popular swap for 4X4`s, like $20 at the Junkyard and about 20 min to install.

Re: Borgeson Steering Shaft?

I have one but actually a little different. Mine the swivel went on top because the bottom ( at the gear box) was still the same attachment type for the rag joint. But I really do like it

Re: Borgeson Steering Shaft?

Here's a good older thread on the Borgeson option.
