19" wheels

Looking for pictures of trucks with 19" wheels. Would really like to see 19"/20" combo but 19" all the way around will work too. Thanks.

I didn't realizze they made a 19inch wheel, so I'm in to see these, 12-18, 19.5, 20, 22.5, but I may be wrong

Re: 19" wheels

They make em.. My moms AMG benz has 19s on it but I doubt they make any for our trucks. I cant tell the difference between a 20 and a 19.. so why 19s??

Re: 19" wheels

I ordered some 19s but haven't gotten them yet. I'm going with a 5/7 drop so I thought having an extra inch for rubber would be better.

Re: 19" wheels

I want the staggered look but I think 2" stagger is a bit much. Besides, I dont have a big enough notch in the rear to run 22s in the back and have it sit the way I want and its too hard to find the tire width I want in a 21" tire.

Yep, there are 12-18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 26, 28, 30 (and of course the 16.5, 17.5, 19.5, 22.5, 24.5)

19s aren't very common though, mostly only on higher end European cars and a small part of the aftermarket. I remember when I toured the BMW facility in SC back in highschool almost 10 years ago, I did a double, then a triple take when I read 275/30R19 on the sidewall of a tire on a 5 Series.

I remember when a new 1984 Corvette showed up at our Chevy dealership and all my friends and I went in to check it out and were blown away by the 255/50/16 tire. 16!?! Holy crap, that 16" rim is huge. LOL. My how times change...

Re: 19" wheels

They may make 19" tires and rims, however be careful to find some with the proper rating suitable for use on a truck. It does make a difference in the ride quality. Even if you don't carry anything in the truck.

Agreed, but most sizes large enough to fit truck wheel openings will probably be rated enough for use on a truck. Remember Mercedes and BMW SUVs came stock with these size tires and weigh more to start with than our trucks as well as being rated for towing light loads as well.

While I don't think 19" tire sizes are "load rated" many of their weight ratings in those sizes rank up there with general Load Range C tire ratings of ~2500lbs per tire giving 10,000lbs of load carrying ability which is much larger than the GVWR of our trucks anyway. Also remember the tire has to be inflated to a certain pressure to carry that weight. It may be rated at 2500lbs at 50psi, but at 35psi the ride may be more comfortable, but it would only be good for maybe 1600lbs or so at that pressure, and too much weight would cause the tire to heat up, wear faster, and possibly cause a blow out. But again, say it was good for 1600lbs at that pressure, it would still be good for 6400lbs overall, which is still above the GVWR of the truck.

Also, generally speaking 19" tires are much more expensive than 18" or 20" and your choices are more limited.

Re: 19" wheels

They are more expensive but not by much. For a set of four for me it was about 100 more for the four tires.
