68 swap. 2wheel to 4 wheel

Im doing a swap with my 2-wheel drive 68 3/4 ton to a 70 3/4
4x4. The sm465 in the 4x4 is noisy. Will the 2 wheel version
mate up to the np205 transfer case? I read somwhere the
output splines may be different.If thats the case, could i swap
these between the two? Or would i be better off rebuilding the
correct trans? Hoping to AVOID this!
