goodyear tires
Anyone running goodyear mt\r`s. I am loking to get a set of 33x12.5`s. I am usually a BFG man but I sure do like the way the new mt\r`s look. Well just wondering thanks in advance. John

My buddy ran them on his 2000 3/4 ton Chevy. They were 285 75 16s. They made a lot of noise, squirmed bad, and had poor wet weather traction in addition to a relatively short lifespan. They did look really cool, however. It's just hard to go wrong with a BFG off road tire IME.

Yea, but they look so cool. I agree I run BFG AT\KO`s (285r16) on my 98 chevy ext cab with a 3 inch trailmaster body lift(everyday driver)and they are hard to beat, but the goodyears were going to go on my 71 4x4 with a 4in susp lift (sort of show truck). Thanks for the info.

We run rangers for work trucks...all have have 235x75-r15 on them...the one with the good years is very loud and I swear you can feel every lug. the one with bfg mt's is smoother and less noise is heard. I like mike am a fan of bfg's for an all around tire

I am running 285 75 16 MTR's on my 95 Yukon and have been very pleased with them. Prior these tires I had BFG All Terrains and the MTR's are loader but they aren't too load. I have to agree that panic stops aren't the most fun with these tires. The truck will swerve in a panic stop. I haven't had any problem in wet weather and they are awesome in what little snow we get around here. A must with these tires or even any all terrain used on the road is that you must rotate them religously.

Maybe I'm partial to G'Year. I got 85,000 miles on a set of GTII's, and still sold the set for $50, but you have to rotate at every 3000 mile oil change.
I had a set of those MTR's on my Dodge Ram, got lazy and went 3 oil changes, and the tires were shot. The flat spots and feathering made the tires un-usable except for off road. Paid $200 each, and sold them for $300/set. The BFG tires are too soft of a compound to use every day on concrete. I had a set of AT's on my Dodge, rotated every 3000 miles, and only got 30,000 miles on them before they were worn down to the wear strips. |
