Re: Public Service Announcement
Amen, brother. Take it from me, please. Okay, I already got rid of it, but all is not lost.

Re: Public Service Announcement
GE Silastic, and maybe some others, that are NOT labeled for automotive use. There are silicone sealers (adhesives) that are labeled for automotive use.
In this case, it was a previous owner, I think the one I bought it from, who used it liberally where ever he thought water was leaking into the cab. The real culprit was the plenum and the leaves/dirt/etc that collected and caused the rusting. He didn't know how these trucks were constructed and started "thinking". He figured that it was leaking around the windshield gasket. Luckily, he put it between the glass and the gasket, otherwise the windshield would have fallen out. He thought that it was leaking where the wiper motor was....and it DID fall out...on my way to work. He thought it was coming in where the firewall and the plenum meet....and he thought it might be where the AC/heater blower housing was mounted....and that's the bulk of what you see. I've been preaching about this ever since I found out what was happening...and the result of this is that I have a different cab... and more knowledge. Thanks to Boog for making it into a PSA....No, not a prostate specific antigen post, but if you are male and over 40....you should get a PSA on an annual basis. Prostate Cancer is a silent killer. Swallow your pride and get it done.
