dual gas tanks

I've noticed alot of the interior pics I've seen here show the dual gas tank switch. Is everyone still running their dual tanks if equipped. I took mine off.

i'm still using my dual tanks...well, i have both of them but the only one i deem as clean enough for using is the driver side.
the switch was installed new before i bought the truck and it still works so I keep a few gallons in the other tank just in case.

i have been wanting to clean them both out and seal them.
Has anyone done this kinda thing?

later

Yep, I still have mine too. I recently cleaned and painted mine with "Tank Tone" from www.EastwoodCompany.com. While I was at it---I replaced the sending units, hoses, clips, filler/vent hoses, worm clamps, metal filler necks, crossover hard lines, and frame mounted diverter valve. Looks like new now!

I still have my duals and they work well. I have also used the tank coating from eastwood. It is good stuff.

I've still kept mine up as well. Gotta love them on a long trip.

I took mine out. Both in tank pumps went out so I just replaced them with a fuel cell. Sure was nice having them while they worked though!

Question Replacement tanks?

I have a '72 model C10, having trouble finding replacement tanks. The previous owner removed them some years ago.

I can get the main tank behind the seat, but not the side tanks. Would you gentlemen know if the 73-87 tanks will fit? Or a reasonable alternative?

Most of the plumbing is still there, just need the tanks and straps as well as the filler hoses.
