Started wiring up my doors, managed to get my passenger window to roll down and up, but found out my drivers door motor or regulator (or both) are messed up.

Well, for Father's Day I bought my daughter her first square body - even though she's only 12 now.... The plan is to fix it up together so it'll be ready when she turns 16! Warmed my heart to know she has the same love for old square bodies!!!

Continued work on my 50, master cylinder and brake pedal assembly are checked complete. Also setup the steering linkage and tack welded the joints in place. Now I can use the steering wheel/column in stead of vice grips on the steering box. LOL. I'll get a friend of mine to TIG everything soon.

Re: what did you get done 6/19/11 fathers day edition

Tried to clean up my low mileage 250, took about a coffeee can of dirt off it, discovered it has AIR (so dirty I couldn't see the plugs in the head!), dirty under the valve cover, but no cylinder ridge. Need to be hot tanked ($$) and head work but if the bearings look as good as the bores I'm in business.

Spent the morning driving around Stafford County, Virginia dropping off some parts and looking at others. Picked up this little beauty on trade ( the guy had a 78' Corvette for sale for $ 4000) and then spent the rest of the day with my ladies at the pool and then at home.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

Researching options.

The LS swap is what was intended to go in the bay sometime this fall once my 64 was back together & driveable. This throws a big wrench in the plans because I don't have time/room for 2 projects @ once.

Soooo, I've been calling local rebuild joints for bbc's & I've even entertained the idea of swapping in a sbc (408) w/the TBI.

I'm waiting for the 350 to die in my K30 so I can convince the wife of the 6.0 swap. I already have a 5.3 sitting in the shop floor for the 67.

All I did was get the windows tinted in the K30 (summer sun was killing me with no AC, now the seats don't burn when I get out to the truck) and painted the bowtie red to match, it was faded. I've been eyeing Top Bananas 73-74 repops though.

Re: what did you get done 6/19/11 fathers day edition

Finally finishing up a long overdue pasture fence project and still been hauling firewood for winter use and part-time income when it gets cold.

Did take time to find the cause for the C-30 running so rough recently. Had a bad plug!
Ended up replacing all the spark plugs and it runs like a new truck! Granted it also helped to gap the darn things to the right spec with the HEI. I apparently failed to read that chapter when I first got this truck. Makes the world of difference with the new plugs gap properly set.

Taking some time out for a few days, except from the day job now, to relax. Been a long couple of weeks coming home from work and working another 8 hrs on the fence, firewood and all the other homeowner stuff.

Fathers Day was good though...the laughter of my children is always the best present I can get.

Mark
