Plugging Holes in truck body

After spending a small fortune getting all the oil leaks fixed. My next project is filling holes where trim was placed. The holes that hold the trim just under the back window. There is no way that I can see to get patching material on the back of the cab. Unless I am missing something does any inside trim hide the screws?
I always wondered why, when I asked someone how long it took to restore their vehicles.
I should have realized it’s MONEY.
Another bit of information to relay, I made the mistake of installing HID lights on the low beams. I have tried every suggestion especially watching videos on you tube for aiming lights. Just one big blur when driving. I can’t get them to focus properly.
I appreciate all the help I get on this forum, everybody seems willing to help when they can.
So Thanks!

Re: Plugging Holes in truck body

I believe on my '73 that the trim holes are hidden on the inside by a brace running horizontally, behind the seat. Mine were so rotted out that i cut out the rot and welded in patches. if the holes are small you may be able to plug weld the trim holes.

Not a clue on aiming the HID's.

I'm kinda like duct tape- no real purpose, but handy to have around.

Re: Plugging Holes in truck body

If you can get a piece of aluminum behind the hole, a mig weld (steel) will not stick to the aluminum. This is how I fill holes, then grind smooth.

Re: Plugging Holes in truck body

some people don't notice the headlight buckets have notches/tabs in them for only low or high beams
86 do you have four?
i put the lower lights in the lower spot and the high beams above, but had to bend these tabs in the buckets to fit
would the tabs be in the way of focusing proper?
