Salute to a true friend
A good friend of mine Steve helped me out in a major way this past weekend.I have known Steve for 10+ years and we have traded parts back and forth(no cash exchanged) and helped each other out wrenching on our trucks. On friday morning I lost oil pressure in my 327 and limped in to work.On the way home I didn't get far before I heard a rod start to knock so I shut it down and called for a tow.I knew Steve had a couple of 350's he had pulled from running trucks he scrapped so I called him up to ask a big favor from him.The tow driver is Steve's cousin and he called Steve and told him my engine had given up.
When I called Steve he let me tell him the whole story of my crappy day of engine troubles and ask to borrow an engine(most ppl ask for a cup of sugar) be fore he told me he had one in his shop waiting for me.He told his cousin to drop my truck at his house and he came and picked me up from my house.Me,Steve and my son Bryce began tearing my truck down after I backed it in the shop. Steve helped every step of the way and even kept Bryce entertained while I was under the truck getting everything ready to pull. By 11pm we had the engine and trans out and started swappin parts over then called it a night. We had the borrowed 350 in and running by 5pm Saturday and NONE of it would have happened without Steve's help and kindness. He took me to the parts store and even let me use one of his trucks to take home for the night. He never asked me for a cent.I feel very fortunate to have such a good friend.Sunday was his birthday and I gave him some nice aluminum pulleys for his big block.Sorry about the novel but I wanted to pay some respect to a friend.Yall be good

I always like to hear stories like this. One person helping another. There is not enough of that in this world anymore.

Re: Salute to a true friend
It's so hard to find people out there these days that will go the extra mile to help a bud out...and not ask for anything in return. To those wonderful people that do...I believe Karma will pay you off in the long run! Sounds like anybody would be lucky to have a friend like that!!

Re: Salute to a true friend
You are very blessed to have a true friend. The term has gotten watered down in an age of the facebook and other social sites when people click the button and they think you are thier friend and they are yours. Atrue friend is someone to really count on. Jim
