Does anyone have pics of a fenderless long or short stepside?
Just wondering cause I'm thinking of doing mine this way. I'm not good at photoshop either. It seems to me the body work would be substantially cut down too.

Re: Does anyone have pics of a fenderless long or short stepside?
Here is a picture from November 2008 when I was installing the correct fenders on my truck.
No rear fenders would make for interesting mud patterns on the back of your cab, and some really cool "rooster tails" when driving in the rain.... Last edited by lakeroadster; 06-23-2011 at 07:57 PM. |

I never would have thought about doing something like this, but now that I see it- it doesnt look too bad. Kinda cool, actually. Especially if you have some nice meaty looking tires on there. No clearance problems either. I bet someone could come up with a mudflap solution to the mud slinging.

I can imagine it now with some MT meats and lowered a little.

You can really see the difference between mine at factory height and lakeroadster's lower stance.

Re: Does anyone have pics of a fenderless long or short stepside?
Interesting concept and one that has been around since the early 1900's when guys starting pulling fenders off of Model T Fords.
Unless the truck has been lowered, and lowered a lot, running without fenders doesn't look like it is intentional, it just looks like an unfinished project. Maybe a flat bed would serve you better? I saw this a while back and thought it would be a killer theme for one of our trucks. Last edited by lakeroadster; 06-24-2011 at 07:42 AM. |

Not to hijack the thread, but I think the flatbed look is a lot better. Any other flat bed pics ?

Re: Does anyone have pics of a fenderless long or short stepside?
Im still working on mine. I like the look but understand that it might not be for everyone. Im planning on cladding the stepside bed with wood. If I dont like it when finished, I can just unbolt it and start over. Right now its too cold outside to do anything but I keep thinking about it and changing my mind every week or so. By March I should have a pretty good idea of what I want to do. Either that, or Ill be so confused that I will be completely debilitated.

Here is what I have done so far. As I said, its not for everyone but it floats my boat (for now).

That actually looks pretty cool. Have you thought about maybe adding a pair of trailer fenders? That might make it look both unique and a bit more finished. Maybe something like these:

Re: Does anyone have pics of a fenderless long or short stepside?
Thats exactly what I would like to do. I went over to Tractor Supply this afternoon to check them out. But I was looking for some brackets with which to install them and couldnt find any. How would you install these? Drill holes around the inner lip and then use wood screws? Id rather use brackets, but if that is the only way then I guess I will reconsider.
