Rear bumper differences 67-68

i was digging through the lmc truck catalog, and i noticed the stepside and fleetside bumpers have different part numbers...which is what i expected.

i found a real good deal on craigslist for a chrome bumper, 50 bucks. but the guy said hes parting out a 68 stepside..but the bumper he has (not on the truck) is for a fleet or stepside. now i know that cant be..one has to be shorter.

can anyone measure their rear bumper (fleet and step) so i know what this guy has? i dont want to make a 2 hour round trip for nothing!

Re: Rear bumper differences 67-68

man, after looking at those pics, it looks short...

if these are too short..by how much? it comes with the brackets, and i wouldnt mind it being short as long as it still fit...maybe it would give it that tucked in look?

Brackets and license plate bracket are well worth the money...

Re: Rear bumper differences 67-68

After reading this thread I went and measured the one that was thrown in the bed of my stepside when I got it...~77" and the ends don't curve. Am I right to assume I don't have a step-side bumper???

Measured both the SWB and the step, 77 for the SWB and 71 1/2 on the step sports bumper.
$50 on a step chrome is a decent price if some one needs one.
