Re: ebay C-10 with 6,000 original miles!

The '77 is very nice. If I had a '77 with only 6K original legit miles, I sure as hell wouldn't be selling it. And for the guy that wants to "slam" it and "chop" it up, thank god your not going to be buying it. Lots of other "beaters" out there that you can hack up instead of a all original piece of automotive history.

As for the next truck......they are gonna post a truck for sale on eBay where the entire world can see it, but they don't even feel the need to vacuum the sand/gravel out of the floorboard??

I bought a 78 with 18k miles on it in 2007, and have been daily driving it. Currently at 32.5k... looks as good now as it did then. I wanted to slam it as well but after seeing how doing it "right" would require some invasive changes and noting how many trucks these days are lowered, original seems rare. I'm leaving it looking stock!

Slam it. Just don't cut the fenders.

Re: ebay C-10 with 6,000 original miles!

I'm not against "driving" them, it's a vehicle, that's what it's for. However, my '84 is pristine inside and out and naturally with everyday driving your gonna get some wear and tear inside and out. I dont drive my '84 everyday, but I do drive it. I just hate to see the super nice original trucks get all cut up. There are so many out there with high miles and blown motors that could use a little light restoration and then be chopped up and slammed. In the end, if you paid for it, it's yours and you can do what you want with it, but keep in mind they dont make them anymore.

If it wasn't for people like that seller, buying a truck and storing it away with low miles, we wouldnt be able to have them today in that condition today.

Re: ebay C-10 with 6,000 original miles!

This should not be cut up or dropped it should be left as is. It is the best representation of a brand new square. At 6k miles it isn't even broken in.

Hmmm. Built in Flint and then sent to Texas.

I have a '65 GTO with 4800 miles on it.

In my case, it was Dad's car, built as a racecar and not intended to be street driven. After racing it for 10 years Dad got sick, couldn't drive it anymore and the car sat.

I suspect something similar here. There was an auction recently of cars from the Dorman collection that had windshield banners like you see here. If this one is from Mr Dorman then I suspect he picked it up to add to the collection, always planning for it to be a museum piece and never intending to drive it regularly.

I totally agree. Squares don't even start looking good until they start getting customized.
