73-79 Body trim

How is the 73-79 side trim attached to the body? Are there holes with the little cap screws like the grill trim? Does anyone have some reference points to where I can measure and install it in the right spot?

Re: 73-79 Body trim

It's a combo of various hardware. Some areas are metal snap clips, some are little studs with nuts on the back side, some are square plastic pads with double-sided tape, and there's a few ends that are held on with a simple counter-sunk phillips screw.

Re: 73-79 Body trim

I got all my body side trim for my 78 from Classic Parts. I'm happy with it and it came with all fasteners needed to install it.

Re: 73-79 Body trim

Was the trim kit expensive? What is the classic parts website? I'm also interested in this.

LOL... You have to admit, "classic parts" sounds too generic to be true. I thought it might be classic Chevy parts, or classic Truck parts. I'm finished thinking for the day.

Re: 73-79 Body trim

Can anyone post pics of a finished product with this trim kit? If you had any troubles while installing please include the gritty details. Thank you in advance.

Re: 73-79 Body trim

I was thinking of installing it with 3M tape and then epoxying the screw heads in place where needed. That way all I have to worry about is getting it straight...
