Very nice double nickle. I would have had a hard time getting rid of that.

Man, I love '55 Chevys. That one looked nice, too.

Shoot, Glo.........the 55 was sure sweet.
I'm sure you're carryin' some deep wounds from havin' to cut her loose.

That shortstep will probably be the best medicine you could ever get.
You might have to do somethin' for "break-through" pain...
Ya' know, like a new paint job, or maybe a turbo-charged big-block......or...?

You sold THAT to get in a 65'?
H.Fkn.S.
That's one sharp ht 55' (I owned a 55' sedan yrs back)...but if you get bored,that happens.

Re: The 55 is out and the 65 is in

Easy, now Fella's.....
It sure sounds like a bunch of heavy handed comments coming down on a guy like that for makin' a decision that probably had to be made...
I'm pretty sure Glo had to do what he did for reasons he didn't share with us.
In no place in his post did he say he "traded his sweetheart" for the '65......
and you can damn sure tell by lookin at his 55 that he had feelin's for her and might even have shed a tear over losin' her.

In the last couple of years, a whole bunch of us have parted with things that we valued and never thought we would ever get rid of.........just to keep a-float.

I can say for sure, Blue Blood, there is no doubt about it.......that was a pretty Fkn. S. thing for you to say.
If you said that kind of thing to me.....and I was still feelin' a bit tender over my loss......You would be damn glad that you were on the other F'n. coast.....on account'a I'd take out my sorrows on your S. Fkn. noggen.

Sorry If I got way young in the head.....Its contagious.
I'll try a bit harder next time...

I probably like you Blue.....Hard to say..........
I just didn't like what you said.

Re: The 55 is out and the 65 is in

A 55' HT (judging from what we have to look at)in as nice a shape as the one in the pic is in the 15k+ minimum.
64-5-6 chevy trucks(in similiar condition) arent anywhere as rare, nor do they go for anywhere the money a tri-five can go for.Remember,I owned one myself.
Easy there.

Re: The 55 is out and the 65 is in

As I said.....I probably like ya'.....but go easy on the judgement calls.
Glo's certainly aware of the value of both.
Chances are, He'd own 'em both if he could.
Maybe he can......that's not the point.......
The point is......Glos55 didn't trade his 55 for the truck.
Your comment was out of line.
Let's not continue down this slippery slope.....
I had to sell my S&W model 91 9mm a few months ago.
I always swore I would never peddle any of my fire-arms while I was under financial pressure........I sure did sell it...........while under financial pressure.
I would be pi$$ed if you said I was Fkn. anything....but maybe desperate....

Let's be nice.

Re: The 55 is out and the 65 is in

WOW guy's!!!!! Yes I had to sell the 55. With the money..... I bought my daughter a bright red 2001 Grand Prix GT, paid off some old nagging bills, and bought the shortstepper and still had cash left over. It was my 3rd 55 and it went to a good home. Anyway I have four other classics in my barn to ease the pain! p.s. The wife and I put over a 100 miles on the truck this past weekend and had a blast!!!!

My first car was a 1957 Chevy, they have gotten so expensive that I decided to build 2 trucks and still spend less money.......Kieth

Re: The 55 is out and the 65 is in

Beautiful car.
I let my '55 go when I got married and started to pretend being a grownup 23 years ago - I still miss it, but the truck is great therapy after a long week at work.
Last year I bought a '56 to restore, figured out what the parts would cost, that went away…
