Re: WTB: stock six lug wheels
Thanks for the quick response and outstanding offer, but shipping from Canada may be a killer. Hopefully someone a little closer to home will come forward. I'll wait and see. stay tuned.

Re: WTB: stock six lug wheels
thanks, but I'm going OE, 15x5.5. I could settle for 15x6 if I had to.

I have one 15x5.5 6-lug stock rim available. It was on my truck, but I changed to 15x5 (1962), and this rim is now left over. Some scratches from hanging from the spare tire bracket. Located in Fountain Valley, Orange County Gus |

Thanks very much. I appreciate your compliment. Chances are good the wheels I get will need to be blasted clean anyway, so scratches are of minimal concern. In my mind, these wheels are not rare and should not be too hard to find a full set somewhere fairly local (saves shipping costs). I had a very nice OG paint set awhile back and tried for years to give em away but never found any takers. Now, damned if I can find but one or two odd wheels. I'll acquire them one at a time if need be, but for now I'd like to see if a set turns up. So, don't toss em just yet, gimmie some time. Thanks again |

Re: WTB: stock six lug wheels
I guess I'm gonna have to get a feel for what it's costs to ship a wheel (or a set), as the local aspect has not panned out so far. But I still can't get the idea through my thick skull that these common wheels aren't all over the place (and local) for cheap.

Re: WTB: stock six lug wheels
It could be what I'm looking for... but I'm after a whole set, and I think I'm gonna hold out and find some local to save the hassle and expense of shipping. Just gotta be patient, I guess.

Re: WTB: stock six lug wheels
Go to car-part.com (a used parts search website that we use all the time in the body shop). I just searched for a 1964 Chevy Truck, search by distance from 91522, search for a 15x5.5 wheel (it was that or a 16x5), quite a few turned up. There is a place in Grand Junction, CO that looks to have a matching set from a 65. Call the places on there and they should be able to quote you shipping to you. That is what these places do. You may even be able to haggle some. I would just ask for pictures.

Since these wheels were not in vogue a few years back they went to the crusher with all the other 66, 64, 65, 63, 62, 61 trucks......that is why you do not see them in the salvages. I know someone who has a whole lot full of them, but they are in Tulsa, Oklahoma Kennys trucks 918-827-2600 |

Dang! So close, but I need nubs as opposed to the clips. Thanks though for the offer to bring them within reach.
