Burb upper trim removal

I am prepping my 70 for painting. Does anyone have any suggestions on removing the upper trim without damaging it too much.

Do folks try to get behind the sheet metal or use prying?

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Tim

Re: Burb upper trim removal

I just pulled all mine off yesterday. Apart from the few screws at the ends, I just used a very thin 2" wide scraper....it is thin enough to flex and I used it to push the side 'spring' clip tabs and just popped them out.....pretty easy once you get it going....I tried squeezing the clips from the inside, but it seemed a lot harder and more time consuming.....

Re: Burb upper trim removal

hey does anyone on the board know where to get new clips..? I heard they don't make new aftermarket ones, or can you use ones from the 60-66 side moulding on the trucks..?

Re: Burb upper trim removal

I believe that they are the same as the truck upper tailgate molding clips.
