1971 k 20 rear spring hangers

I was looking at a 71 k20 today. Do the 4x4's have a different rear spring hanger than the 2wd have? I thought they were longer to make the truck sit up higher in the rear. the truck I was looking ate had short rear hangers and rear springs with alot of arch to them. The hangers still had the factory rivets. If anyone has a pic or can tell me how the hangers are on their 4x4 I would appreciate it.

Pretty sure the fronts are way different (larger and wider)
but don't know about the back.
TTT for more answers.

Re: 1971 k 20 rear spring hangers

I searched and find things confusing. In this thread in the pics they are what is on the truck I am looking at. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...84#post4430034
In the next thread these hangers are what I thought 71-72 4x4's used.

Was there a design change between 70 and 71?
The reason I'm asking is the truck I am looking at has been pieced together and I am just wanting to know about what year the frame is. It has new model front and rear ends so I cant go by that.

Re: 1971 k 20 rear spring hangers

Went back and looked the truck over better. Its a 2wd with rear leaf spring option that has been converted to 4wd, and a good job. They went as far to put the angle iron behind the front diverside leaf spring that the 4wd have. It has a bow in the frame that starts at the rear shock area that the 2wd's have. Wierd this is the 2nd truck both within 5 mi of each other that have been this way. O well I'll find a real 4wd 71 or 72 still yet.
