Re: decisions...

As much as Im a squarebody guy, Id drop the 78. Our body style is still reasonably easy to come by, with plentiful and cheap parts. You could easily pick up another one down the road when your a little less encumbered. The 59, not so much.

Re: decisions...

The 59 would be the hardest to replace and even 73-80 squares are getting harder to find these days...

Which one would hurt less to see the neighbor driving around the neighborhood?

Get rid of that one.

Re: decisions...

Well I don’t think you should be going by what is harder to come by, I would be going by witch one you like driving more and witch one is going to hurt less to see go. I think I like the 78 better though just to be different I guess.

Re: decisions...

As much as I love the 1978 Chevy trucks, I'd sell it and keep the '59. You could always get another squarebody later on down the road If you got rid of the '59, and wanted another one later on, it'll be hard to find.

Re: decisions...

Thanks for all the opinions fellas. Sometimes you get so wrapped up in stuff you need someone to make you think. I would not have guessed there would be such a leaning toward the older truck on the squarebody forum but thats what makes this website so worth the time. Keep em coming.

Re: decisions...

Keep what you like. Don't worry about collectability or the "right" one to sell. I would use the '88 as a work truck, sell the '59 (don't like that year, personally) and use the proceeds to hot rod the '78. But that is me. You may love the '59 body style. If you are going to invest your time, money and busted knuckles, it ought to put a big smile on your face.
