how to hold up motor when change tranny?
I have to re an re a tranny in a feild and was looking for a good save way to hold up the engine,not do crazy on putting blocks under the oil pan.I have No cherry picker either

You can wedge a 2x4 between a head and the forewall, or support the pan with wood and a jack. I would remove theistrubutor cap either way, just to be safe. The engine is only going to rotate so far before binding on the engine mounts (usually just enough to shatter the cap).

I have ran a tie down strap under the pan, to each frame rails before. Usually if the motor mounts are good, I just let it sit there.

You can set the pan on a piece of wood, then use an axle jack under the wood. I did that for years before I could afford a cherry picker.
