Trying to take off door panels - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I need help taking off the door panels and im not sure how to take off the door opener handle and the window crank if you can let me know how I'd appreciate it thanks

I remove mine they both have clips on them i use screw driver just becareful not to lose the clips

there are small clips on them that you have to pop off. Once that's done they'll slide right off.

All the auto parts houses have a tool to remove clips with ease-usually under 5 bucks--slide under long portion of handle-push and remove---jim

dont need the screwdriver or special tool when a shop rag will do ,slide the rag between the panel and handle and pull up so the clips pops off and slide handle with rag and clip together ,this keeps the panel from getting mess up by picks or screwdrivers
just sayin'
ps make sure the clip is in the right direction to pop off -----lol

I never heard of that trick before. The PO's of my truck scarred the heck out of my door panels.

Now this is dumb but I've seen ppl do it once or twice...When you get the clip off and remove the handles, slide the clip back into its groove. I've actually seen ppl put the handle back on and try to feed the clip back into place!! HAHAHA! If the clip is on the groove of the handle you can lightly push on the handle and it will pop into its proper place.

i like to use an old tshirt, the same as the shop rags trick just doesn't tear as easy when you're trying to work it off. way easier than screw driver or plyers. yes like they said above, load it back up then pop the complete package back onto the splines.
