I need help again!

You guys seem to know how to fix all of my problems... so here goes..

I left the lights on all day at work, all 8 hours. Battery was dead, lights didnt work after that. they blinked once and stayed off.. I replaced the switch and now the lights blink on and off but only on bright and dim does it occasionally...
I checked power to the switch, and its constant good power. Can anyone help ?

Well, I put a battery charger onto it, and hooked a truck with jumpers to it at the same time!

Re: I need help again!

You need to be carefull when charging batterys like that, people have blown up bats and got acid all over themselvse. You said you changed the light switch, was it new or used? When you changed it did you see any burned wires on the plug for the light switch?

I thought about that after! haha..

The switch is NEW.. And there were no burned wires.. That was confusing for me too..

Re: I need help again!

The battery is very close to the head light plug ends on the right side of the truck, did you damage any wires or plug ends wile you were charging/jumping your battery?

"wires\plug ends" ? Spark plugs? plug wires ? if that's the case, no!

Re: I need help again!

No , your headlights have wires that are pluged in to the back of them so they will light up, your battery is positioned in very close proximity to the back side of your head lights on the right side of your truck. When you charged your battery or jump started your truck maybe you damaged those plug ins or wires to the head lights on the right side of your truck. Not spark plug wires.

how could I replace it ? does that wire pull out ? if so, I could cut it back and just re do it ? or do you have to buy a new plug ?

Re: I need help again!

You can tape up the single wire for now and be ok.
You can go to the junk yard or auto parts store and get a replacement plug cheap.
They will come with about 4in of wire so you have enough to connect.
Your damaged wire is to close to the plug to be fixed properly.

J Knight,. you did it again.. I just cut that green wire.. and looked inside that plug, there was a metal peice with a little peice on the back that was popped out, keeping it inside the plastic.. I pushed that little peice down with a small flathead from an eyeglass kit, slid the metal peice out.. and opened it up, stripped what remained from the green wire still connected to my truck put it inside this metal connector.. squeezed it back onto the wire with some pliers and slid it back into the plug, and onto my headlight.. GOOD AS NEW. J Knight has helped me Two times in two days. Good job man!

Re: I need help again!

haha, I'm about to post another pist reguarding the lights inside my gauge cluster.. The only lights that work are the ones that light up the gauges and my blinkers.. no engine light, no Dim\Bright headlight light, or anything else

Thats easy, remove your gauge bezel then remove your gauge cluster, and change all the bulbs (EVERY LAST ONE OF THEM! GOT IT). The bulbs in your dash are the 194 push in just like your side marker lights. should be about 10 or 12 of them.

Could it not be wiring ?

Re: I need help again!

I doubt it, there is a printed plastic circut board behind your gauge cluster that powers every light you are having a problem with.

yeah I replaced all the light bulbs on that thing a couple weeks ago.
