Check this out! Notice anything ODD?

so i am all for customizing your truck and I am sure that this guy meant well but i don't think that he researched much before he started cutting it down. It looks like he cut all 20 inches out of the middle of the frame.

This truck is for sale locally for 1800 its a 1966.

Thought you all might get a kick out of this.

Re: Check this out! Notice anything ODD?

Looks like you would be sitting on the Diff. You probably get the feeling of pivoting rather than turning in this truck. I guess you wouldn't have to worry about seeing another one just like it when its all done.

It doesn't look too bad to me either.

Just curious, what is the wheelbase of a blazer? (compared to a SWB?) I know they are a little shorter than the SWB truck.

The first altered C10 I have ever seen.......an injected 427 with a straight axle under it and it would be sooooo Kewl!

A SWB is 115 and a blazer is 104 or 105

Re: Check this out! Notice anything ODD?

If his attempt was to create an SWB, it would take two cuts to make it look original. But, the shorter-than-stock wheelbase may end up being a lot of fun in several ways....

I've seen better and I've seen worse It's not all that bad, I give him credit for having the guts to cut it down into what everyone seems to want... a shortbed

That's what i am saying.

I am shortening mine and I made two cuts. I also don't think that he did a bad job. It just wouldn't be my pick to have it with such a short wheel base. and such a long back-end hanging out.

Re: Check this out! Notice anything ODD?

What he should go is finish the 8" section in the back and then put it back together. That would look kinda cool.

The wheelbase reminds me of a Ford.

It's true. Ford's longbox was only 5" longer than Chevy's shortbox.

He surely couldn't have got away with that on a stepside. There wouldn't be any room left for the step.

I actually kind of dig it. Seems to me like it would fit right on a 4x4 Blazer frame.....would be a sick 4x4 project.

Re: Check this out! Notice anything ODD?

I'd buy that for $1800! That'd be a pretty fun ride with the right engine/trans combo. Good start for a '66 Blazer project.
